Module 'Internship'

Partol Police Officer 2016/2017

Aim of the module: it is aimed that a student gets acquainted with the police organisation and with the job of a patrol police officer, consolidates his/her knowledge and skills when carrying out misdemeanour proceedings in the presence of the most common misdemeanour matters, and safely and lawfully responds to calls alongside with his/her partner.
After completing the module a student:
• knows the structure of the Police and Border Guard and its organisation of work and main tasks, and has an overview of the job of a patrol police officer;
• receives and forwards information and uses means of communication;
• recognises different states of intoxication, checks and detects the level of intoxication;
• measures the speed of a vehicle using speed detection laser guns;
• measures the scene of a road traffic accident, and documents the scene according to the code of operation at the scene of a traffic accident;
• responds to calls;
• carries out state supervision, incl. road traffic supervision;
• formalizes the documents required in patrol work;
• takes part in the search of people;
• conducts proceedings for the most common misdemeanour matters.

The capacity of the module of internship has been decreased by 1 EVEC; the study outcomes of the internship are partly achieved by increasing practical activities in the modules of professional communication, weapons study, self-defence and tactics, and in the module of resourceful incidents.
