- can understand the factors influencing human behavior, management and organizational behavior principles, statehood, the economy and the operational principles of public administration; - knows the legal norms and knows how to use the Estonian legal system; - prepares independently and critically a variety of research in accordance with the guidelines for written work of EASS; - knows the measures granted for resocialisation of imprisoned persons and for an effective planning of the period of penalty and is able to implement them; - is familiar with different theories of communication and is able to implement them, coping with crisis and emergency situations; - is able to properly and as intended, apply and see the links between the legislation governing imprisonment upon providing guidance to the imprisoned person, on ensuring their rights and directing them to fulfill their duties; - is able to communicate in two foreign languages; - knows a variety of supervisory practices and technologies used in prison and is able to properly carry out and use them; - demonstrates self-defense techniques and values a healthy and athletic lifestyle.
