Description

The objective of the curriculum of corrections is to support the student’s formation of the knowledge, skills and values which:
• permit them to work at the official rank of class II prison inspector as an inspector-contact person;
• are necessary for continuing the studies on the master's level or through lifelong learning.

Admission

On the speciality of Corrections, the studies can be commenced by a person who has completed secondary education or has an equivalent qualification from a foreign country, and who meets the requirements set for a prison officer candidate in the Public Service Act § 14 and § 16 and Imprisonment Act § 113 -§ 116 and masters the Estonian language at the level C1.

Graduation conditions

• Completion of all the subjects and internships provided in the curriculum and defending an imprisonment related research paper for a positive outcome;
• Passing the imprisonment related final exam for a positive result.

Graduation document

Upon successful completion, a diploma of professional higher education and an academic transcript in Estonian and English are issued.

Learning outcomes

The objective of the curriculum of corrections is to support the student’s formation of the knowledge, skills and values which:
• permit them to work at the official rank of class II prison inspector as an inspector-contact person;
• are necessary for continuing the studies on the master's level or through lifelong learning.
Upon completion of the curriculum of Corrections, the knowledge and the skills of the student meet the requirements set for class II prison inspector established by the requirements set for the official level 6 of the professional qualification.
