Subject 'Identification and Inspection of Strategic Goods'Name in Estonian: Strateegiliste kaupade tundmine ja inspekteerimine
General descriptionTo provide the students with an in-depth knowledge of the
restrictions for import and export pursuant to international agreements and Estonian legal acts, and with the ability to implement the knowledge acquired by him or her upon conducting customs control and the surveillance of end-use. Study outcomeIs familiar with the basic principles and methods of inspecting strategic goods
and with the systems and the regimes of international export control; Is familiar with the lists and the classifications of strategic goods and the regulations and the process of licensing and cross-agency cooperation; Is able to inspect the main materials used for manufacturing chemical, biological and nuclear weapons, knows the main impact thereof on the human body and the environment and is able to implement the necessary measures of primary protection and safety; Is able to inspect military goods and the components of the more widely spread conventional weapons, missile technology and weaponis of mass destruction and of their carriage systems; Is familiar with the principles of international intermediate commercial transactions and the provisions of services related to violation of human rights; Understands the role of information in risk analysis and in customs control; is aware of risk indicators and potential countries of risk; Is able to implement the Strategic Goods Act and the relevant regulations of the European Union in the customs control and in the surveillance of end use, and to solve the relevant cases.
