To provide the students with the knowledge of the basis of the
qualitative and the quantitative data analysis, the methods of applied statistics and the
Excel statistics software.

Is familiar with the methods of qualitative analysis and is able on the basis of
qualitative investigations to create new knowledge; he or she is able to draw
conclusions and to make proposals for increasing the level of safety;

Is familiar with the problems of precision and reliability of statistical assessments
and is able to adequately interpret the results of a quantitative data analysis;

Is familiar with the methods of the analyses of correlation and regression and is
able to use them for the purpose of investigating the connections between
different phenomena;

Is familiar with the method of analysis of time series and is able to perform
statistical forecasts;

Is familiar with the Excel statistics software and the equipment of information
technology and is able to use them for the purpose of carrying out empirical
research;

Is able to use the methods of quantitative and qualitative analysis in the internal
security related research and development activity.
