Subject 'Professional English in the Field of Internal Security (B2 Level)'

The objective of the subject is to provide the students with the vocabulary and phraseology necessary for discussing world issues and security related matters and to equip the learners with verbal tools for participation in various workshops, trainings, conferences and debates on relevant topics. During the course, students will also acquire skills for composing academic texts and making presentations.

• Police/rescue/corrections/border guard

• Poverty/slavery/forced labor
• Women’s rights/gender equality
• Urbanization
• Language discrimination
• Environmental issues (global warming/renewable energy)
• Human rights violations

1. The learners will have acquired an extensive word bank on academic and internal security topics through reading and analysing the speciality-related texts.
2. The learners will have become familiar with the basic structure of academic texts.
3. They will have learned the basic tools for participating in conferences and workshops by being able to make presentations and carry out debates using proper vocabulary.
